Our Programs

The Montessori School of Baton Rouge offers both a Primary Program and a Toddler Program. Each of our programs has a daily schedule that consists of a morning and afternoon work cycle. There are designated times throughout the day for time outdoors on the playground along with snack times, lunch time, and a period of rest.

There is a half day or full day option available upon enrollment. All students arrive on campus for 8:00am. Our half day students dismiss at 12:15pm and full day students dismiss at 3:15pm. Before and after care are also available.

We encourage both prospective and current parents to come view our school in action.  Please contact us at (225) 766-9942 or msbrinfo@montessoribr.org to make an appointment today.

Toddler Program

The Toddler Program at MSBR is designed for children 18 months to 3 years of age. This stage of life is characterized by tremendous physical and cognitive growth with a driving need to be independent. Toddlers learn by exploring rich environments with their five senses and lots of active interaction with prepared adults.

Our Montessori Toddler classroom provides a safe, home-like environment for your child to learn to care for themselves and others while becoming independent. The work is tailored to the child’s natural development, and they do it joyfully.

Primary Program

The Primary Program at MSBR is designed for children 3 to 6 years of age. During this plane of development, the child possesses sensitive periods for absorbing and learning from his environment. They have a deep love and need for purposeful work. Montessori school allows the child the freedom (within limits) in a carefully prepared environment that guarantees exposure to materials and activities through which they accomplish the most important goal — the development of self.
